Hello everyone, welcome to another episode of the AI and I cares innovator podcast. I'm your host dr. Ray Han Ahmed Co-editor of the AI and I care journal today. We're asking a really provocative question Are we at the table or are we on the menu?
Of course, we're talking about smart glasses Platform shifts and really whether the vision industry is positioning itself to shape the next computing interface Or are we simply reacting to it? And I am so pleased to be joined by someone who's better at speaking about this than anyone really I know on the intersection of medicine technology and human performance I'm so pleased to welcome a friend of the podcast and our journal dr. Kaiser Kadary Who is a clinical associate professor at the buyer's eyes to at Stanford and the founding director of the Stanford human perception laboratory? He advises a number of startups and companies.
He's a well-known Neuro-optimologist technologist and my favorite title. He's a futurist who thinks deeply about the convergence of human science and computer science and how machines proceed interpret and augment human capability Kaiser welcome so much to the podcast. Oh Ray Han thanks so much for having me that was quite the introduction and Yeah, I'd like to see pragmatic futurists, you know Because you know a lot of people think way out into the future. I'm like how do we actually get get those small increments while we're still alive to see it, you know so Well, Pratt pragmatism is definitely a super important.
I think we're hitting that in an AI a little bit. I think there's A lot of AI bloat and reactions. I'm definitely reading a lot more Reactions against AI of course we're talking we have a whole podcast about that But we could definitely have that I'm all about it Practical solutions is also you know what I'm about like how is this gonna help patients in clinic? And I know you think about that a lot, but we're what we're talking about is this question about you know, are we?
At the table thinking we're being part of it or are we really on the menu? And so we're gonna talk about that today and so when people talk about smart bosses Kaiser the narrative is dominated by by tech, right? I mean meta Google the big company, you know the trillion dollar companies But I guess a fundamental question is like how do you see the landscape and Why does the vision industry like where do you see the problem? Why do we see ourselves as part of the technology industry and sort of set the groundwork for our listeners and just before you get started with the answer we're really pleased to have part one of Kaiser's really well structured Article coming out this week end of beginning of March at the AI and I care journal So please check it out.
This is intended to be a compendium to that So Kaiser tell us a little bit about sort of like the issues that you see in terms of smart bosses and how the vision in industry is positioned Yeah, no absolutely It's definitely a provocative question about you know, are we at the table or on the menu? I mean you want to be at the table, but you know Or we should be at the table is basically the opportunity that we have You know, so this goes back a little way. So I've been You know, I'd like to say that I've been involved in this space a long time So on the consumer technology side I've seen some of the early things with like Google Glass and then you know VSP with like level You know, Carl's ice meditek had some smart glasses and like you know, and then like some early spatial computing I was advisors for like a company called Magic Leap They're now getting into the supply chain for smart glasses. Yeah, that's an interesting thing I'll just we can put a pin on it and talk about that later It was a very very strategic pivot as of recently because they were kind of off the radar for a while We were darling over 10 years ago and then there's a company called Dacry.
They're one of the early ones too Their technologies now in meta and in snap and so like, you know a good portion of my career Since like residency has been really around this type of technology. So I mean that goes And it goes a long way at least 15 years or so I've been thinking very deeply about this for some time that as new as we think it is It's not as new. It's just there's a lot of different capabilities that weren't there from an infrastructure standpoint I mean when you think about mobile, I mean the iPhone came out in 2007 And you know it wasn't shortly after people were already thinking about smart glasses And you know, and that's that was a big push by you know meta because at the time they're a facebook and they bought a company called Oculus I was started by two co-founders one palmer lucky who's you know already doing technologies and drones He's since moved on but it's like, you know, they're already kind of thinking of what's next and The the thing about it was was back then I was I was actually pushing for this, you know I was like hey guys This is our time and I was talking to a lot of different executives that you know all the major players that you know You and I probably know no in terms of you know You know in the in the frame and lens space but It's hard to wrap your head around it If that's not your day to day if you don't see it to be your day to day and that kind of answers the question of like well you know We all went into this space and into vision to help to help people and to help people see You know help them perceive their world in a better way, right? And you know when you go in with that kind of mindset, you know our ecosystem is very different You know, it's like how do we optimize site?
um Whatever level you're at if you're on the insurance side if you're in the surgical side, you know, whatever that be And so we've always thought about it from a service standpoint not necessarily from a technology But when you actually think about I like to say that we're accidental technologists because you know the first Reading lens or reading stone was like in the ninth century So if you think about that, it's been over a millennia That we've actually been in the space from a lens standpoint and then we put those into frames and then there you go You start having a biomedical device. Yeah, and and we really optimize that in a lot of different ways You know when you think about supply chain when you think about it like from the standpoint of prescription glasses When you think about it from distribution with iCare providers And we all know how nuanced the space is, you know, no two prescriptions are the same And also just the you know measuring even you know a patient is very you know, it can be even nuanced in a day depending on Light levels, you know energy you know, um Dry eye or other types of kind of ocular conditions. So So We always looked at it from a service and I think that was kind of it No one really thinks of them because of technologists known really kind of like shifted that kind of had that paradigm shift and in frame of mind But now look where we sit in 2026 and even slightly before then, right? um It's it's a it's a different place and you know my my biggest fear going to the question is You know, we might think we're at the table, especially some of the early Partnerships that you've kind of seen and yeah, and all the details of each of the partnerships But I remember those technologies.
I remember when s lore first created their first smart um frames before you know any kind of relationship with me so we were ahead of the game in that sense it just We didn't know enough about distribution and so forth from an experienced standpoint Around the consumer tech side, right? And so you had to find the right partners and that's where the meadows and the googles and you know and and so forth Kind of come in they're good consumer like they're the consumer tech folks, right? But I don't think these partnerships should be made in the sense like, oh, okay at least we're now and I'm not saying that that's a case that oh We're part of this because we're having this relationship with them because you know history kind of shows that you know to start off a new area of industry that Or space Usually companies come together right with like there are different subject matter expertise But then at some point You know One of the groups will say actually I think I have it from here. Thank you And we don't want to be that person that is doesn't Doesn't stay as an integral part of this new smart glass like ecosystem because we should be thinking about it Not as just the smart glasses, but a new computing platform for for all those that don't really like kind of You know if you want to wrap your head about that It's really like just think about the the mobile phone the mobile phone first So it could just you know it could do calls you know and then eight because messages and then all the sudden You know with the app store you now we're able to build on it and then create an ecosystem and You know that's basically a platform, right?
It has hardware It has services and it has applications. So three things hardware services applications And so if you think about the glasses, there's the hardware, right? When you think about the services You know If you have like meta glasses and so forth, it's connected into like their ecosystem already Right and that's then allows for applications, which is WhatsApp Instagram you can like put feeds all the way through and it's like if we were to talk about today Where where does the vision industry sit just in that me listing that they don't So maybe that answers that question right You say you and I love the framing of glasses sort of being the original wearable right like wearables are all all the rage right now But this has been doctor hundreds of years where there's you know glasses sitting on your head over a thousand years Yeah It's it's um, it's been interesting like we have the right to win When I say we I mean the iCare industry as a whole and if we don't get our act together Soon it may be the rug may be pulled out from us because we're not we're not seeing the shifts that are happening with their regards to the technology technology companies that are sort of That are going to take all the gains from this is am I sort of summarizing your yeah to some degree It's I wouldn't say it's really a win standpoint. It's how do you Be an integral part of the ecosystem right?
Because you know and it's looking at not just from a short from standpoint like hey We're in the game. We made these relationships with these other companies right whether it's with meta whether it's google You know, whether it's apple whether it's like, you know, any of the the big ones amazon It's like hey, we're in the game but it's not about that short term kind of gain and it's it's it's more about how do we state integral and how do we how does that Integration be something where we have the ability to help define it. You know, I like to use the term like if we don't define The ecosystem it will be defined for us and so we're seeing that so I mean no one was talking about the eyeglasses like 18 months ago, right and it wasn't a thing but you know Mark Zuckerberg Smart he's just like I'll define it, you know because technically it's it's frames with you know cameras in them Cameras are capturing information visual information. That's getting processed through computer vision and convolutional neural networks There's your artificial intelligence right labeling car cat dog, you know house all those things I think it's more sophisticated, right?
Well, what ends up happening is now everyone thinks about it as AI glasses, right? and you know If I took you back a little bit in history We were this was this was trying to be done like over a decade ago, but people weren't able to The market was confused so back when magically and daiquiri and hollow lens are kind of coming out You know we had to find terms like what is virtual reality because they're like oh this is VR and even oculus like what is VR? Okay, what is AR right so virtual reality augmented reality? What's MXR mixed reality right where you could do both What is you know then they were like extended reality super confusing especially to the average individual That's just like you know reading like you know some of the news and they see some of the stuff Like oh this looks pretty exciting.
I'm like I have no idea what which one is this right? Well, I think a lot of those got simplified. I mean I think when apple released vision pro You know they're like, you know a new world of spatial computing so they they kind of took AR VR MXR XR You know and they kind of combine them under this spatial computing Which you know some of us in the industry from before when I'm talking myself here in industry and talk about from the technology side now because I you know wearing different hats we were talking about that terminology back then but It took that long over a decade plus for the market to really go okay like you know and it took a big company You know apples what multi trillion dollar companies say hey, we're calling it this Right. We're defining the bishop competing we're the fine terms and they also gave a little inkling to visual intelligence, right?
And so you know in I don't know if you guys if you read like Bloomberg last week or anything like that I was talking about this upcoming March 4th announcement from apple and they're going to do a bunch of their different new product Launches and there's inklings that they might do something in this space as well In terms of smart glasses and or it could be like a new part of vision pro who knows Well, one of the things they did talk about was there will be some discussions because Tim Cook who's the CEO of apples It's something about visual intelligence again. So you know, these are signals you know and you know one thing I would say is you know when When you read some of these things if you read wired or or you know tech crunch or you know whatever kind of like You know like New York times like tech section or wherever you whatever you wherever you get your new source when you read these There's a little signals that kind of come up And you know and I've seen so many cycles of new technology kind of come about that you can kind of say like okay There's there is a higher signal to noise ratio here. There's something here And this is something that I started noticing a little bit more in like the last probably year and even that vision expo west Was that like look like you know when meta did their they did their launch right around the vision expo west with like the meta oak leaves and so forth And you notice they called it meta oak leaves And meta ray bands or maybe they called it ray ban meta. Sorry, but the writers Called it.
So maybe it wasn't you know, I can't really recall but you know, you're starting to see blurring of line. Yeah with like Brands have been around for I don't know how long's the oak we've been around right on like yeah, yeah That's a long time longer as a kid. I can know Yeah, it's it's interesting image. I an anticipation of this call I You know, I should probably get one of these, you know, give them in very much an industry I need to get one of these and so I We rolled it and I was dr.
Ximetta. So I went to meta's website And I went through the whole process on their website and there was a little thing about uploading, you know, the prescription Nothing about Yeah, there was no like OD and the References your symptoms of digitalized strain or anything like that. So I want to better understand what What being at the table really means right? Do you mean?
From from a development you may mean all these like from a development standpoint we need to have iCare providers in there to To be there on the teams to help them develop these technologies From a usability standpoint for customers to be using these for for application standpoint I'm thinking about there's Patients who have peripheral field loss or maybe central field loss projecting parts of the image to areas of the retina where they you know Where they can see to help them that way Or morning customers of our possible vertigo from You know these types of smart bosses. So I guess what what do you mean? By being at the table. It seems like a lot of things, but um, do you mean that?
Do you mean something different? Yeah, no, I mean that's great and you know that'll come up in like part two of our I was saying I agree that it's a that you're saying it's a problem like I So I guess my my answer to that would be you kind of you kind of talk about in the same layers that I had kind of presented In terms of platform hardware You know services and applications, right? And so on the hardware side We are in supply chain. I think it's very difficult for for meta or any of the other groups right now to be able to fulfill Prescriptions they might say like download for and so forth But still going through the channels probably related to esylor laxotica today, right?
That doesn't mean tomorrow won't be different this all goes to the fact that you know they you know everyone learns, right? and Some of the things is I think there's more of a appetite to learn from the consumer tech side To learn more about our space than the opposite, right? So what ends up happening is like, oh, well, how'd you do this or how what's your supply chain look like here? Who are the different contractors you guys use?
Where are you getting things in like, you know, like in? Europe or in like, you know, like in Italy or like, you know, like where are the manufacturing where all the components put together, right? Like they're not doing this just to be curious. They're doing this because look they're not looking at us as any type of competition They're looking at each other in terms of the googles to the meadows to the apples and stuff as their competition because you know We don't think about ourselves here in this space.
We should be thinking about like, you know, if you have kids you're kids You have grandkids you're grandkids, you know, like look at the folks that are Generation like alphas right now, you know, and they're the ones that are going to be adopting this technology reality of seeing in the z's, right? Like they're the ones that have been living as digital natives for like almost, you know, those are two generations of digital natives, right? Millennials were like kind of in the middle. Yeah, and the happening is You start getting this factor that what's their lives gonna look like because you know, we can say, yeah, you know what?
I don't want to deal with this And you could live your life without having to really technically deal with it much, right? Um But they're the ones where it's like, okay, like how are they gonna use this? So they'll use it socially. They'll use it for like sports.
They'll use it for work They'll use it for all these different things because you know We might say, well, I don't want all my stuff recorded for them They might want for convenience because then it connects with a AI system That's able to kind of like sense like kind of what's going on and help them, right? Like Imagine if someone's walking into a room and then they can like, you know It's already evaluating. Let's say it's let's say it's our next Let's say it's you know, right now vision expo east I think is it's going on, right? And so let's be wearing these vision expo east and there's certain people that you want to meet and You don't know who we don't know them.
Well, well, you can pick up all the different kind of like facial components and so forth because pretty much half the world's on Facebook, right? Or some kind of social media Or LinkedIn it can pick it up It can have a little bit of information related to you and you can go up and you can talk them and It can also have a recommendation like component where it's actually recommending certain people for you to meet, right? now That's not too far-fetched to be honest with you and That could happen in the next You know if someone releases application probably within the next 18 months, you know If it could be sooner, but you know you got to kind of get the the market kind of like moving but This is where people need to kind of think about learning from the vision industry more about the The consumer technology side and and the importance of smart glasses and how this ecosystem Is going to be defined. So let's go back to supply chain.
Sorry. I kind of got fine of tangent but supply chain In is in hardware and we kind of own that so how do we stay more connected in? And so I would look at this more from an embedding standpoint. How do we embed into the hardware, you know?
And you know this kind of goes into like smart sensors, you know stuff like, you know, like I don't know if you wear an apple watch Like I have an apple watch and You think about it. They don't technically own all the sensors in their watch, right? They have vendors and so forth involved Mossimo is one that's involved with with theirs So it's like so Mossimo which is involved with medical devices and sensors So all those EKGs when you go to the hospital and a lot of other sensors in the hospital. Those are Mossimo, right?
They're based in like orange county in California like There's a lot of bio med over there and that's where they're kind of base, but it's like Thinking differently like that because that those data streams and stuff are important, right? And then like so I'm kind of breaking down a platform for you So it's really kind of having some aspect of the of the of the hardware side and then you know I'm just giving you one example and then the next is services. So the service is You know, we're never going to develop an operating system um, it's It's extremely difficult, right? But I call it like a vision operating layer, right?
So it sits right above the operating system But the way why I'm calling it a vision operating layer There should be something that's related to the vision industry And when I'm talking about the vision issue, I'm talking about our whole ecosystem like in this sense We all need to kind of band together because if you really think about it like our collective whole ecosystem is Less than a trillion dollars these companies we're talking about are all over a trillion dollars and multiple trillion dollars, right? So When we think about it's like hey, we really should start learning more about this other side So when we get to the services This vision operating layer is like hey, well, this is going to involve like health related data like Who do people trust, right? like They trust their healthcare providers, right? So they'll trust their iCare providers um And like, you know, I always have you know, I've been thinking about this where I'm like, you know Close your eyes and imagine you walking into an apple store Or you know, I don't think meta has a store But you know if they're you walk into like, you know, but what if they did, you know, but let's just go out Because they actually have a store and let's say they have some kind of a smart kind of like like offering, right?
And the future they will, right? So um You find out more on march 4th. This is not an ad for the way. I'm just saying, um, but like Now imagine that you go in and you're having some kind of like issues, but with your eyes, right?
And then there's a um Someone that's helping you, you know, it could be, you know, the young college Like kid that's this is her job like, you know, boys are going to school They're like, oh well, it says here You might have glaucoma and you know, these are some of the things that you should do we could connect with like your your Your health care provider or we can get you a prescription or you know, like That Is a world that could happen, right? But that's not a world that should happen, you know, so um, so in that sense The service part gets really interesting because right now you were talking about it I think a little bit earlier about AI in general And you know how it might be bloated or we have no idea about like kind of this hype cycle and everything But it's affecting every industry including ours, right? And right now we're just trying to figure out where do I sit as an iCare provider in AI, right? But uh, you know in the ecosystem like the different corporations and stuff are trying to figure out how to integrate it into their own business lines Let alone how does it act?
How do I as like a a vsp or an eslural exotica? Or like a Boushine lom or like, you know any of these kind of groups, right? How do I do it in a way where i'm Enabling the provider the ecp Yeah, you know, I think we need a very much a more provider centric approach so all the technologies make A more automated process for the ecp, right? So actually it actually expands business when you think about it because you know right now everyone's trying to think about how do I like?
You know, manage my own like pml's in my own like business as the the you know the bigger Anchors for our ecosystem rather than going okay. How do we actually just shift this and make this more provider centric? And then how do we also like connect the consumer to the provider? And that's where things like embedded sensors from the hardware standpoint can feed into the services, right?
right, yeah, I love you know I To push not to push but like the example of the You know the the the max store employee being like oh yeah, by the way, I have fall coma and there's some air pods over there as well you know like the it would be disjointed but the idea of The device saying hey your vision has been changing or we noticed that you're not Tracking as well as you used to You may have cataracts or you may have max degenerate, you know early signs of things that that's super powerful And that'd be fantastic for providers to have that built in or the providers to have that right so but those into on the services the monitoring So if you have the sensors in Uh, then then you can potentially and whether it's you or the consumer tech companies have the sensors in it still That's where I talked about this as a vision operating layer, right? We're basically like that that aspect Stays with us right in the sense of like, you know How do you like if someone does have like, you know some some kind of You know disruptions of their smid pursuit, right? They could have a saccata contrusions and that could be behind the year degenerative condition, right? um You know park and sins or something, right?
It's like well, you know like so there's a lot we can learn But there's a lot we can monitor that should come to the iCare provider So how do you make sure and ensure that that workflow comes through us, right? Yeah, and then is your plea also that Hey technologists as you're building these devices Like you may there's a lot of good you can do if you just sort of think about these couple extra things Is that part of it too? Or do you think they're already thinking about like they know they're very close to the ocular and anatomy so like oh yeah, we know we can do a lot of Diagnostics if we want to that's a great question I would say that um they would um I mean they're not naive to it But I don't think they have the same subject matter expertise we do So they know that there's something there if you can you know if you're capturing this type of information about pupils and eye movements and blinks and facial expressions and all this other stuff How to kind of connect the dots potentially? They don't necessarily know the you know how it all connects medically yet, right?
I mean did you have some information? I mean when you think about like all the stuff we've done with like fundus photography and all the different technologists associated with that in terms of Those are some of the first applications of ai right with diabetic retinomnies everything well They do know some of the stuff that could potentially happen but I so I think they're in the realm of thinking about what possibilities are But then they would need folks like you know ourselves like folks are a little bit more savvy on the technical side going hey Well, there's this you know you can do x y and z you know, but and it goes to your point of back Well, should iCare provider be part of the process in the sense of helping like consumer technology like groups I mean, I'm all for you know sharing and and consultation, but I think it's almost like I would recommend like a kind of like council similar to like what happened with like bluetooth with like all the main stakeholders in the vision industry plus Experts, you know subject matter experts within the iCare field that i've actually practically like applied this to be involved with this Because I think in some ways it's too important right in to be you know on the menu per se and we might not be on the menu now it might be you know a You know it might be some you know and It could be a new offering later. We might be having a menu not in the first first couple of years It hurt your course, but the second course yeah, yeah, it's the course but the the application side What you're talking about with like fields and so forth. This is exactly like you know some of the stuff that You know, I I've been thinking about like if i'm you know Carl Zeiss meditek, you know, and I I'm very familiar with visual fields or i'm eslo exotica, you know, they got hog street They they bought them.
It's like, you know visual fields in this new world Are going to be very helpful to identify like if there's an issue essentially or peripherally where you can then augment those right With the type of technologies. So one it's really cool But so let's take a step back and let's not be like, you know This this conversation isn't one saying oh, that's why I wanted to frame it. We're not trying to win this battle There is no battle right it's basically like hey, there's a new platform coming And how do we work with our colleagues in the consumer technology side to give out the best product but make sure that we are an integral part of getting that product out and doing the best for the Consumer because the consumers are consumer to them the consumer in our case we call them the patient, right? It's like how do we do the best by them because this is a biomedical device So on the applications that would be really cool on the field stuff I would take a step further to say hey like If you want to get into the technology space there like that's also great for engagement.
So like Even think about from applications for like advertisements personalized and so Not that I wanted like make sure everyone's field of vision is optimized for whatever ad spend there is but It's more of like thinking out of the box if you're in the vision industry because like At some point if you don't there's only so much you can grow within your own ecosystem Right and you see that like you see that on the retail side then they grow into the the medical side of iCare Or vice versa, right? and then But then where do you go? And I think now is such a perfect opportunity because like oh wait well consumer tax signaling to us that they're going to come into our space well It should be bidirectional. We should be going Into their space, right?
So that really goes to going from otherwise you know You're not necessarily at the table for too long and then you become a vendor And then eventually you might become obsolete Yeah, and so a lot of these folks are these nice like market caps right now. These have to look at blackberry, right? so like perfect example of hey, I'm good. I'm going to kind of see how this all plays out and No one really remembers blackberry unless you're a certain age It had a keyboard They had a keyboard right that a keyboard they had the most secure messaging platform on the planet Like governments had it like they had a significant amount of the market cap in hardware in services and applications across the board all three of those and their market cap now is like Under three billion dollars and it's like where they could have been was You know if they kind of kept their trajectory and and so forth at least half a trillion to a trillion dollar company amazing what was that 15 years makes a roughly maybe yeah when you said the iPhone Came out in 2007.
I'm is that is that really is it? Only been I guess as we get older you're like that's not that long ago. Honestly, it feels like I've always had it, you know, and I think your point is smart glasses are going to have maybe even a higher Slope trajectory. I mean you're you're thinking this could be as game-changing as mobile as a mobile phone voice It's going to be the moment I'm changing the reason being is now you're able to learn Oh like understand someone's perception like okay If if I'm turning my head and I'm holding my phone, right?
My phone has no clue what I'm looking at or what's capturing my interest If now I have capabilities that's capturing and measuring things Outside like my environment and on me. It's it's understanding how I'm taking in the world And so I'm probably less bullish than you on on smart glasses. I think there's something fundamentally Weird about them like there's a there's an abstraction from looking like we're both not wearing glasses right now Not say that glass is great an abstraction But if you're wearing a smart glass then a little metal light came up right now like guys from how do you do it? You know like and so I you know I wonder about that but I'm probably I'm probably wrong, but I'm saying I don't I don't see I'm not There could be another I never decide I don't disagree with you in the sense that I understand where you're coming from, but it's what I said Maybe 15 minutes ago in our conversation is like um This is not about you This is about turning out this is about a point Alpha's gen alpha's because when you think about it, you know like when when me about instagram There's only like five people or something in that company, right?
But what they found out really quickly was it's like oh the younger generation is communicating through visuals and video Yeah So they're already crushing with facebook, but they're like we got by these guys right? And then you know And similar with what's that small thing, but they they saw the trends you just have to look at consumer behavior and social behavior That's what I'm saying They look at those types of things We're happy as an industry and believe me. I've been in some of these talks with some exacts of stuff We're like oh we found out what the persona is of like the different segments of the of of of of iCare Of patients. So this is what like a 20 to 30 year old would want for this and so forth and it's almost in the sense that You guys spend how much for this study and so forth where at the same time There's all this social media with all this type of data and everything where you could actually identify really like intimately What what your consumer really wants if we start flipping it going from our patients now become the consumer You know like we you know if we use that term semi interchangeably that I think it's part of the mental block Because you and I aren't wearing these glasses But what these glasses also were connected to some kind of device And there's so many things that you could be doing with it And we don't know yet because the the applications for AI right now We can't necessarily feel in our physical environment Right We can feel it when we're doing a prompt and right Yeah Now imagine you're walking and you're like huh I wonder what this would look on like on me as i'm shopping right now you're having an AR related You know like pair of glasses so not AI everyone AR right Reality Where it's not just capturing what you're seeing like the you know like the shoes or some outfit and so forth Let's say she's a young lady and she's looking at like a dress And she's like I wonder what this looks like on me And then it can overlay like a visual of her with the dress on right Arino's all her like seizures.
I mean Okay as she's just walking through the mall uh interesting that she's just like hey uh, you know Hey, Siri google Alexa like I I'm like hey whoever look mine just mine just came on right now um It's like Uh, could you identify like the cost of that and you know and you know is there any deals in you know? Yes, it's this it's gonna be this okay perfect And you know, can you just have it purchased and sent to my house right? Simple that would have taken too much that would take like a minute Imagine you have that you'd be wearing those glasses. Yeah.
Yeah, you're you're right and sadly you made the point that's Sad but true. It's not about it's not about me anymore And maybe not about not about either of us, but it's about what what's sort of coming Well, no it is about you but the thing is it's not a it's about shifting your framework Is if you start thinking about the future or doesn't mean you can't be part of the future That's a really key thing. I want everyone to think about is that like Even though it might be for You know like the the phones facebook were for younger generations But who who ended up adopting it everybody yeah everyone yeah, you're right And now now short form media is is the new de facto standard right all the instagram sort of started now everyone's doing it and it's what i'm addicted to so um, I think you're exactly right Kaiser, thank you show this has been so this is such a I think foundational and important topic Uh smart glasses generally and really how the the vision industry Odys MDs obstacle how we can work together to be a part of the solution And so this is part one of our podcast We look forward to having you on again kizer and and going through this and saying how we cannot be a course Yet just a course on the on the dinner menu that could be coming up.
